Probate Courts

The Probate Court handles estates, guardianships of adults (legally incapacitated individuals), guardianships of minors, guardianships of developmentally disabled persons, conservatorships of minors, conservatorships of adults, adoptions, name changes, delayed registration of foreign births, trust proceedings, mentally ill proceedings, and wills for safekeeping.

The Juvenile Division of the Family Court handles neglect/abuse proceedings, juvenile delinquency proceedings, emancipations, personal protection orders against minors, and parental waivers.
